2012년 Passion Pit의 보컬 Michael Angelakos는 극심한 조울증으로 투어를 비롯한 일체의 활동을 중단한 적 있다. 오랜 시간의 휴식, 그리고 2015년 <Kindred> 이후 새 앨범을 계획하며 스스로의 건강에 대한 개인적인 관심 이상으로 정신증 자체에 대한 선입견과 편견에 가까운 인식의 제고, 의학적인 도움과 연구의 중요성, 그리고 지원의 필요성을 느낀 모양이다. 

2017년 초 그들은 'The Wishart Group'이라고 이름 붙인 자신들의 유튜브 채널에 신보의 트랙들을 하나씩 공개하기 시작했다. The Wishart Group은 Michael Angelakos가 시작한 프로젝트로써, 음악인들의 법률 자문, 교육, 건강 관리 서비스를 비롯한 정신 건강에 초점을 맞춘 일종의 재단 개념이다. 앨범이 발매된 현재는 Rixton의 We All Want the Same Thing 리믹스와 앨범에 수록된 [You Have The Right]의 데모 트랙만 남기고 모두 삭제된 상태고 여기까지만 보면 흔한 앨범 마케팅 같지만, 앨범을 ☆공식적으로★ 무료로 받을 수 있다. 방법은 바로 패션 핏이 지원하고 있는, 신경과학자 Michael F. Wells를 팔로우하고 그를 언급한 트윗을 RT한 뒤, 멘션으로 이메일 주소를 보내는 것이다. 그러면 메일로 그들의 신보가 첨부되어 온다! Wells는 동료인 Erika Siegel과 함께 패션 핏의 트위터 계정을 통해, 정신 및 신체 건강에 대한 문의의 답변을 해주는 #weneedscience 캠페인을 며칠 간 진행하기도 했다. 이런 식으로 그들이 직접적으로 개입하는 활동뿐만 아니라, 그런 활동을 알리는 단순한 RT 한 번으로 자신들의 새 앨범을 다운로드 받을 수 있게 해준다는 것은 재능기부 이상으로 그들이 어떤 숭고한 가치를 발견했고, 다다르기 위해 추구하기도 하고 있음을 의미한다. 그리고 그것은 그들이 앨범을 공개하며 올린 메시지에서도 구체적으로 발견할 수 있다.

Tremendous Sea of Love

is an album for us, for me, and for you.

Something happened when I started making music "professionally.”

What happened is I forgot how fun, how beautiful it was to share the version of my music that was not the "product."

When I say product, I mean the b version of the song, or album, that was done, finished, ready for a sale.

Revisions are important, but we are so good at revising, so concerned with presenting perfect versions of ourselves that we miss the point. We become upset when people don’t fully understand us, or assume things…

That, my friends, is the business we are in. No, we were in.

Because each song was quickly rendered, or written the night before it was uploaded, [and] was mixed to the best of my ability (after years of people telling me I couldn’t mix).

They were not perfect, but they were honest. 

Honesty is important because clearly we can, as humans, detect falsehoods, and yet today we are discussing “alternative truths.”

This is not crazy, it is just a message saying:

ALL WE HAVE LEFT IS THE FIRST DRAFT

ALL WE HAVE LEFT ARE THE SPELLING ERRORS

ALL WE HAVE LEFT ARE ZITS AND IMPERFECTIONS WE E IT OUT

ALL WE HAVE LEFT IS THE CONFESSION THAT WE DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING

Because today to edit, to revise, is to propagate a culture, A BUSINESS that is archaic, that is scared of acknowledging the truth and that is saying YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I wrote this album to tell myself and to tell you that you were always good enough. That the money we spend agreeing with these people, it is adding insult to injury.

You are tremendous, you are truly the reason I have, have always, and could continue to have anything.

And you deserve a thank you.

I do not need your money.

I just want you, I just NEED you, to listen to me.

No money can quantify what that means to me.

I really, truly love you.
